What we offer our members
Advocacy is one of the most important services that AHI members require. The AHI interacts with government and other institutions in the interest and on behalf of its members regarding matters relevant to members' businesses or dear to them.
Government recognises the AHI as a mouthpiece. Members have great appreciation when the AHI effectively advocates on their behalf.
The AHI ranks is made up of a network consisting of thousands of members and companies. Membership of the AHI provides access to this rich resource.
Several interesting events are hosted annually.
Members use these network opportunities to their benefit. The success of networking depends on your own participation in and involvement with these AHI events and the follow-up actions.
AHI EMPLOYERS' ORGANISATION
In striving to provide a service that also adds value at grassroots level, the AHI has identified a gap in how it provides advice to members on the level where they do business, especially with regard to labour relations and labour disputes.
ESTABLISHMENT & FOUNDER MEMBERS
The AHI Employers' Organisation was registered with the Department of Labour at the end of January 2001. The founder members were the AHI, Iscor Ltd. and CLS Consulting Services (Pty.) Ltd. The Department of Labour has confirmed that the AHI was the first sector organisation in the country to take this step.
LABOUR RELATIONS ACT 66 of 1995
The Labour Relations Act 66 of 1995 makes provision for the establishment of an employers' organisation. This could be described as the flipside of the same coin of the Act which protects the interests of trade unions.
EMPLOYERS' ORGANISATIONS HAVE THE FOLLOWING RIGHTS:
There is a fast growing, quite amazing online community in the world.
Therefore the AHI, together with its technical partner, Ascendence, has established an independent business, Africa Connect, to fully exploit the online business opportunity.
A business community was established and is growing very fast. The aim is to do business inside and outside of South Africa.
This is a wonderful way of unlocking business opportunity across borders in Africa.
Africa is indeed the centre of growth for the future.
