The AHI has a long history in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN). During the seventies and eighties of the last century there were chambers in most towns, excluding the old KwaZulu. At the turn of the century, the chamber numbers started to decline, but since 2010 has emerged some African businessmen and women and the AHI stamp their hands impression in KZN and nationally. Currently there are six chambers were spread across KZN, namely in Amanzimtoti, Newcastle, Pietermaritzburg, Port Shepstone, Richards Bay and the youngest in Freedom. AHI KZN active management headed by Aart Verrips of Amanzimtoti. Riaan Odendaal also Amanzimtoti's DSBF, served on the AHI board for two years when he was chairman of the National Provincial Committee.
AHI KZN offered some successful national conferences. Although not as large and numerous as some other provinces, the AHI KZN its reputation in AHI ranks. The young potential present at all the chambers, it will only grow from strength to strength.
