commitment to transformation
We are strongly committed to South Africa’s ongoing transformation efforts and have embarked on several projects to enforce this:
55% of our staff are previously disadvantaged individuals
a leadership programme for previously disadvantaged individuals allows for successful candidates, who complete their training, to be considered for permanent employment
an accelerated management development programme to increase our ability to fill management positions with candidates of colour.
always there for the community
corporate social investment initiatives
Over the years, we have focused our social responsibility efforts on assisting organisations that struggle to sustain their essential contributions to the communities they serve.
The aim of our CSI strategy is to enhance the livelihoods of individuals in Diepsloot through skills development and job placement to reduce poverty.
We have already made generous contributions to the following Diepsloot based organisation:
Itirele-Zenzele High School: Our aim is to transform this school to a 100% pass rate with 60% university exemption, through the help of the organisation, One School at a Time.
St Mungo’s Diepsloot Community Action: This organisation provides Adult Basic Education and training to Diepsloot residents and it’s accredited by the Independent Examination Board.
Harambee Youth Employment Accelerator: This programme seeks to accelerate youth employment in Diepsloot. Harambee finds young people who have the drive to succeed but are struggling to find employment opportunities and place them in sustainable employment.
The Food Security Programme: The programme runs three micro-agricultural businesses in Diepsloot for community members to generate an income. Three crèches have been identified in the area to benefit from this initiative by being recipients of the produce while the co-op will get money in return to ensure sustainability of the programme.
Woodside Sanctuary: This residential care facility cares for 102 children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Residents are provided with individual care and treatment plans are developed to ensure maximum development and independence.
Douglasdale SAPS: The Douglasdale Police Service recently established a tactical team to focus on raids and operations within the precinct. Auto & General donated five vehicles equipped with CCTV cameras to enhance their efforts.
The Dainfern Lion Football Club: we’re supporting 40 youths from the Diepsloot community by paying their membership fees to the Dainfern Lions Football Club
